Christian Atsu scored and pushed Newcastle United to three straight wins


The Magpies wins 3 matches in a role after losing the opening two Premier League games. The 3rd victory materialised when they beat visitors Stoke City at St. James Park 2 – 1 on Saturday afternoon.

Rafa Benitez men came to the party with a winning mentality and displayed attacking football throughout the 90 minutes.

Christian Atsu scored his first premier league goal for Newcastle United. Matt Ritchie brilliantly cross the ball to Ghanaian international Christian Atsu and he hummer the ball to the far post of Stoke City to hit the back of the net in 19th minute.

Stoke city found the equaliser via Shaqiri in 57 minutes. Shaqiri spots a gap in the bottom left corner and bends the ball expertly beyond Rob Elliot.

Newcastle United doubled the lead in the 68 minutes through Lascelles. Matt Ritchie swings in a corner from the right and captain Lascelles rises highest to head the ball in off the crossbar.

Both teams continued to push for more goals but after 90 minutes the score remained 2 – 1.

The victory against Stoke city send Newcastle United to 4th place on the Premier League table until Sunday’s takes place.
