AFCON: Gabon, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Guinea-Bissau drew opening games
The opening Group A matches of Gabon 2017 Afcon ends in a 1-1 draw. The host Gabon failed to hold on to their one-goal lead at the AFCON opener Guinea-Bissau. Burkina Faso and Cameroon shared points as well.
Gabon begun their goal scoring campaign of the AFCON 2017 via Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in second-half of the opening game. He tapped home from close range following some good work from Denis Bouanga, the 2015 CAF Africa Player of year tallied fifth AFCON goal of his career.
Debutants Guinea-Bissau also displayed their readiness for the AFCON 2017 and shocked the host Gabon and the entire world with a dying minute equaliser through Juary Soares.
Elsewhere, Burkina Faso held Cameroon to 1-1 draw in second Group A match played later in the evening.
Cameroon took the lead on 35 minutes when Benjamin Moukandjo free kick. He placed the ball at the far poles of the young Burkina Faso goalkeeper Coffie to increase the goal tally for Afcon 2017 to 3.
Dayo got Burkina Faso leveled in the 75-minutes. Ondoa spills Diawara’s free kick and it’s headed back to Dayo was. And dayo did not hesitate to puts the ball beyond the goal line of Cameroon.
